A welcome release for a couple of reasons. First off: This is the return of Billy Syndrome, taken down a year ago by a brain hemorrhage, which sent him into a coma. Billy is one of my all time favorite underground/outsider rock & rollers, a music fanatic who has been faithfully producing interesting punk rock since the 1980s. Second good thing is I really liked the last BWST release I heard. Billy being back in action is good and BWST with something new is fine and all, but, really, none of that would matter if this record sucked. Let me report that not only does The Lords of the Infinite Cosmos not suck, it is a great piece of rock & roll. The title track and Daisy Chains are both great bubble-psych by way of Hawkwind pop, kinda like confectionery Hawklords. The flip sports two nice Heartbreakers-style trash rockers that causes these arms to swing. Hey Sister, the better of the two, has a great build, breaking out of the Thunders mold.
