Very little on the interwebs about this release, btw. I knew about his being the original drummer for Built to Spill and his Halo Benders connection, but THIS I did not know:
Raised in southern Idaho, Ralf spent most of his adult life in Portland, Oregon. Before rediscovering mathematics in his early 30s, he spent life writing, performing, and recording music. He still plays music everyday.
Ralf earned his BA in mathematics from Portland State University in 2008, and his MA in mathematics at SFSU in 2010 upon completion of his thesis (on matroid toric ideals) under the advice of Serkan Hosten. He has returned to Portland, and is working on his PhD at Portland State University.
