(I divide this show on disc after “Breaking In My Heart.”

This was recorded when Verlaine was on tour promoting the “Words From the Front” LP. The band was Verlaine with Jimmy Ripp on guitar, Television bassist Fred Smith and drummer Jay Dee Daugherty from the Patti Smith Group. Alas, my tape ran out just before a marathon “Marquee Moon” was finished (but close enough to the end to feel some satisfaction). At which point, I fled the club with my girlfriend because I didn’t want to be around if he played some cosmic encore song and I was out of tape.
