Ok here’s another 1978 show that you don’t see often-if at all.
Again it’s from my archives courtesy of my friend B and I once again thank him for his generosity in continuing to send me
quality rare Hawkwind.
I cannot emphasise how rare some of these recordings are that my mate B has shared with us, and I for one don’t take it for granted. I really do enjoy receiving new shows every 16 weeks or so, and that excitement as you listen to a show for the very first time.
Anyway back to Rico’s Place in Belleville.
The audience is a bit more vocal on this with quite a bit of whaoohing right at the start and in between songs.
The recording does settle down, and your ears adjust. There’s some tape hiss, and muffling, but once again making allowances for it’s age and circumstances that this was taped in it’s remarkable anything at all survived for us to enjoy 33 years after the event.
Consequently SQ is always subjective and personal to the listener. This recording isn’t perfect but hey so what. But if you have to push me on sq I’ll score it 7/10.
All I can say is get this while you can.
