Rough yet beautiful, rambling freak folk, complete with wonderfully picaresque, slightly bizarre lyrics. There are a few missteps here, but plenty of raw talent, and it will be exciting to see where the artist goes from here. He doesn’t have the best voice, but it can convey a lot of emotion and works well here. – recommended if you like The Music Tapes (he plays the singing saw!), Daniel Johnston, or Neutral Milk Hotel.
