Grateful Dead – Pop History Vol 23 – Vintage Dead

Grateful Dead

History Of The Grateful Dead

According to Dead 101 this "semi legal" bootleg was released by Pride in 1972, and evidently in Europe it was released as "Pop History Vol. 23".

Here is the info file from the torrent uploaded by orygunfreebird:

Grateful Dead

"Vintage Dead" and "Historic Dead" LPs

This is from a show recorded September 16, 1966 at the Avalon Ballroom, San Francisco.

Two semi-legal LPs of the show were released, "Vintage Dead," in October 1970, and "Historic Dead," in June 1971. It was later released in 1972 as "Pop History Volume 23," comprised of both albums. The albums were released on Sunflower Records, and were not official releases, but were tolerated by the band, so not all-out bootlegs.
