Review
————-

This is part 1 of a double set. Volume 2 was published on CD by No Karma Recordings.

From the booklet:
A brief explanation…

"The Astronauts Are Sleeping" is a collection of songs I recorded on various analog machines between 1995-1998.
Both the recording technique and the songs themselves are more than slightly imperfect. But I hope that despite all the hiss, out of tune guitars, and monotone vocals, there is something that you, the listener, can find enjoyable.
On a side note, "The Fourth Of July" is an audio experiment that was conducted on a warm July fourth night back in 1996. Four condensor microphones were set up in each corner of our tiny backyard to record the neighborhood fireworks display as well as our live, improvisational music performance. A series of over dubs, (vocals, synthesizers, slide guitar, etc.) were then added the following day. Though the end result is fairly awkward, it serves as a documentation of one of the finest nights of my short life.
