This one took awhile, for obvious reasons. There’s just so much extraordinary funk that came/is still coming from New Orleans that there was no way I could include every configuration of every group that has played together over time. So what this turned into, for the most part, was a celebration of the Meters. While going through my collection for tracks, it almost seemed like every show had at least one cover of a Meters song. So I used as many as I could that were feasible, stopping short of becoming overly redundant. So there are some repetitions which I tried to track with some distance from any of the others.

Thanks to all those who tape, seed, master and generally make this stuff available. I’m sure I’ll miss somebody. No slight intended if I do.
