It is back! After a long tolerance break I have decided to once again indulge in some of the good stuff. These things should always be observed in moderation so ill start slow.
Now it has obviously been awhile so ill refresh everyone on how this works. It is very simple, I spend countless hours scouring the far corners of the web-nets to create a small collection of the best new tracks, deep cuts, and obscurities that the internet has to offer. My process however is a little more complicated requiring me to live only off cheap deli meats and various caffeinated beverages, I rarely see the sun, have not felt the touch of woman in months and have lost almost all contact with reality. But enough about me. This is the good stuff.
P.S. everything here is %100 downloadable.
Else – Ariane
First up is a Else who I know very little about. What I have managed to gather is that Else is a part of the L’ordre Collectif based in Toulouse, France. The collective was started in 2011 and so far is made up of Else, Vanderway, and L’ordre. Anyways these guys are absolutely reviving disco in a superbly retro way. “Ariane” is a great example of how amazing disco can be when paired with aggressive bass.
Vaderway – Early
So I know just as much about Vanderway as I do about Else. Again, part of the L’Ordre collective and again, excellent nu-disco. This one is a bit slower and is very reminiscent of another Frenchman Breakbot. Listen to that guitar!
Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Sylvian – Bamboo Music (Amateur Best Version)
Remember when I was talking about obscure, this is what I was talking about. This is a remake of an old 1982 tune by Ryuichi Sakamoto and David Sylvian called “Bamboo Houses”. Amateur Best (Double Denim Records) has kept the song pretty close to its original so it is equally as hard to describe as its predecessor. Just listen to it.
Telekinesis – Ghost and Creatures
Telekinesis is usually a one man band, Michael Benjamin Lerner. However for his newest album containing “Ghost and Creatures” he has teamed up with Jim Eno (Spoon – Drummer). Together both drummers have produced a spacey track led by a keyboard and some melodic synths. I am sure he pissed off a few devoted fans who were expecting Indie Rock ballads, but I am thrilled!
Lorde – Royals (Jean Raw Remix)
The original “Royals” track by Lorde is one of my guilty pleasures so I was thrilled to find out that Jean Raw had given it a go. The track is still very much a pop song only now its a pop song you want to dance to! Spectacularly catchy and unique.
Crystal Fighters – You & I (Molo Remix)
I wanna apologize first for posting yet another Crystal Fighters remix, but I will defend myself in saying this is no longer a Crystal Fighters track. This remix might as well be a Molo original. It has been chopped up slowed down and given a trippy trappy makeover.
Treasure Fingers and The Knocks – My Body (Radio Edit)
It is a beautiful thing when LA (Treasure Fingers) and NYC (The Knocks) producers can combine the two flavors in a single song. “My Body” is equal parts LA vibes, NYC style, and Deep House. It feels like your dancing in a 90′s New York club with the sun shining.
Krooked Drivers – Only For You (LNR Remix)
This song is actually everything I want, need, or ever hope to be. Twangy guitars, raspy retro vocal samples, aggressive bass lines, add a phenomenal drummer and you get a song you can drink and dance to, on repeat. Late Night Radio absolutely works this remix!
Yuksek – Girls & Boys
Yusek is one of my favorite producers right now, and obviously I am not his only fan. In celebration of 20,000 Soundcloud followers he has released a version of his original “Girls & Boys” for download. This one is an upbeat disco-house tune with his signature british vocals (I’m not sure that will mean anything to you until you listen to the song, in which you will inevitably say something like “Ohh british vocals”).
Airplane Sound System – Night Lazer Feat. Jules Hendriks
Now we are at the point where I selfishly promote my own tune. So here it is off our debut EP featuring Dubco creator Jules Hendrik’s, Airplane Sound System (Nicholas Guinan and myself) I present to you our version of feel good music. I hope it makes you feel good.
About Us
Dubco is a collective that has evolved into a team of artists, musicians, writers, and photographers working together to both build and capture the cultural identity of the countless forms dance music in the United States.
