While the Amorphous Androgynous were working at Paul Weller’s studio in 2011 producing and collaborating on what was to become the now infamous ‘lost’ album with Noel Gallagher, they met Canterbury band Syd Arthur and were handed their first EP ‘Morning’s Calling’ and LP ‘On and On‘.
Gaz Cobain & Brian Dougans of the Amorphous Androgynous loved what they heard and after attending a Syd Arthur band rehearsal in Canterbury proposed they select and further psychedelicize choice tunes from both releases by applying their trademark A MONSTROUS
PSYCHEDELIC BUBBLE REMIX ethos on the band, which has previously been used to technicoloured effect on OASIS – Falling Down, Noel Gallagher – Shoot A Hole Into The Sun, Paul Weller – Aim Higher / A Dream In Pieces , DJ Food- the Electric Images In My Mind Never Die & Pop Levi- Blue Honey.
This album is the result of that work; the AA adding numerous performances themselves as well as utilizing other musicians and instruments such as flute , sitar , dulcimer, hammond, piano, female vocals and further drums and strings all subsequently fed through the AA sonic blender, turning up the saturation of the psychedelic dimensions within the Syd Arthur sonic universe…
