Total Life – Burner

The great experimental-music label Important Records is offering a free download of the Burner album by Total Life (Olympia guitarist Kevin Doria, who’s also in Growing). Total Life is known for his overwhelming sheets of scalding drone, but on Burner, he mellows out a shade and it sounds a bit like Loop’s “Heaven’s End”—sans drums. These two tracks may sound like a high-powered generator, but they possess an oddly tranquilizing effect. This is a wonderful soundtrack for meditating, reassessing your life, and power cleaning every inch of your living space.

about

BURNER is inspired by late night atmospheric reentry and the desire to look into the future by peering into the past. A slightly mellow-er listen than its companion, Radiator, which is available on LP via Important Records.

Intended for high volume playback. Recorded and mixed at home in the winter of 2012.
