This feature appeared in The Wire 250, sometime in 2004. I was rereading it recently and thought it would be fun to compile every song (and its riff) listed in the article. I stayed away from Youtube rips as much as I could but I had no choice on some harder to find tracks. Almost all rips are 192kbps or better but some lesser quality ones are in because it’s all I could find. Anyway everything is very listenable to my ears. I found every album/track except one, “Minimal Punk” by the Japanese vocalist Most (of the band Phew). Let me know if you have it.
The only “executive decision” I made was to replace Sleep’s Jerusalem (1999) with the recent Dopesmoker remaster from 2012 as the band considers it the defintive version.
I probably should’ve made this a torrent but I split it into 4 mediafire downloads of about ~500mb each. You can download the parts independently, you don’t need all 4 to unrar them. Feel free to repost/share wherever this may be appreciated. I hope people get some enjoyment out of this rather insane project.
