HOLY SHIT. so tuesday, january 18th. i came home from work to discover, much to my surprise, that my long awaited secret santa mix had arrived. coming all the way from OSLO norway, where it appears to have flown out on the 16th of december.
good god dam slowest mail system ever. i cracked it open to discover a pair of CDs in hand made covers with hand made art, a bag of gingerbread cookie dust (they used to be reindeer), and a note. the gingerbread cookie dust was awesome (not laced with drugs) and the note sincere. with a bit of attitude i threw the first mix (everything is eating) into my computer and fired it up.
HOLY SHIT. so worth the wait. ive gotten some awesome mixes in this crazy secret santa drunken escapade before, but this one takes the cake. spanning both the entire time line of recorded music and every know genre (probably some exaggeration, but still), and concerning itself with the idea of everything as food. Tons of stuff i have never heard of (and am now tracking down feverishly). tons of double entendre (hot nuts, nice and brown, get em cheap, everyones crazy about my nuts) which is always a big PLUS.
i have zero idea who sent this masterwork to me, but thank you kindly sir/madam. and believe you me. it was worth the wait. if you could post MP3s so i dont have to listen to lossy rips on my ipod you would doubly be my hero.

seriously the best mix ive listened to in years. works on every level imaginable. can’t praise this enough.

ok…if i had to guess i would pick one of the elder statesmen of #it, someone who had a solid grasp on music of all genres, someone with a deep appreciation for music. my first guess would have been viker, but he’s been outed already. did slug participate this year? although i thought he was in the UK somewhere. hmmm…
