DFA’s Holy Ghost! dropped this debut EP Static On The Wire just last week and I have to say I dig it. The album features some epic 80s disco infused jams, especially in the title track. There are some solid beats and nostalgically filtered late 70s-early 80s style disco beats updated to the modern feel. “Say My Name” has that pop-disco flavor to it with the synths and the stuttering disco guitar licks over the falsetto vocals. These guys explore some great disco/new wave hooks throughout this EP and these guys seem primed to make a splash at some point in the near future. The band is currently on tour in support of the great LCD Soundsystem, and I imagine these guys will succeed in getting the crowd that shows up early to do a little pre-dancing to the LCD show for sure.
