Compilation info

This is my favorite r&b compilation record of all time (where that means compilations whose point is “you never heard any of these songs and they smoke”).

It contains my favorite r&b song of all time (sort of in the same way, but I don’t have to qualify it like that), Bad Girl pt. 1 by Lee Moses.

It also has the best song recorded by the “5” Royales (and which does not appear on any of my 5 Royales comps).

Ranges from trancentally great to off the hook silly, but never, *ever* tongue in cheek (not even the tune with the ringing telephone and crying through the entire song).

Why are you still reading?

Crypt catalog copy:

A great “concept” album containing a fine slew of emotional (ranging to psychological breakdown!) 50s R&B ballads and mid-60s southern soul love songs, perfect for miserable nights alone missing your loved one.
