A spectacular show. Best Venus 3 show I have seen. Best Robyn Hitchcock band show I have seen. Professional musicians at work at a classic LA club with a top notch sound system. As good as show as I have seen by anyone is a long time. A full blown great rock show from one of my favorite guys around. As good as it gets.
RH started the electric part of show playing a vintage natural Telecaster. After one song he discovered that the nut was damaged and causing the low E string to buzz. He switched to the only other guitar he had – a Gibson Les Paul.
Pete Buck started the evening with a stellar full band set featuring the rest of The Venus 3. I’ll up load that show separately.
