Nobody Sings Dylan Like Dylan, Vol. 40: When the Fast Bullets Fly
For everyone eagerly awaiting the September 11 arrival of Tempest, here’s something to tide you over: 15 new Dylan covers by favorites old and new. This is the fortieth of these sets I’ve compiled, and as long as great artists keep singing Zimmy’s songs there may be forty more. (He did say I could call him Zimmy, right?)
As always, a big thanks to the tapers, the original uploaders, the nice folks who’ve sent me recordings, the fine artists who’ve created cover artwork, and especially the performers and most of all the composer. Due to the many different sources, I am not including lineages. I have done nothing to the original files but normalize the levels and fade in and out on each track (using Cool Edit). If you’ve got something good that deserves consideration for future volumes, PM me.
A note on Vol. 39: it was pulled down by the mods because it included a Patti Smith track from a Sirius Radio show. I haven’t reseeded it because I don’t have a copy of the edited flacs. If anyone out there has it, and feels like uploading it with the offending track removed, it would be much appreciated.
