this one has a bit of confusion. the info given had this dated 1/21/71. leon did not play the fillmore east on that date. he did play there on 5/21/71 and earlier in november of 1970 with elton john. upon a close listen i’m pretty sure this is from one of the 11/70 shows. the arrangements and set list are really similar to the 11/21/70 show we’ve had for years except for the song order and at least one song not played on the other show we had. the clincher is at the end of the 2nd to last song leon announces elton john and then you can clearly hear elton announcing leon. we already know the 11/21 show has them playing together during both of their own sets and elton was touring in texas on the same dates as leon’s 5/21/71 show. i’m going with this as 11/20/70 with a question mark. i gave them a close comparison and the versions are different for sure.
