The high point trail takes you from Issaquah out to Preston. At the South end you get on either from Sunset (up the freeway on ramp – protected from cars with a jersey barrier) or from First Ave. NE on the east side of I-90 up a new dedicated trail. This second approach and the High Point Trail itself are not currently paved. The ride is on an old logging road (actually an old logging railroad grade) so it is a little muddy but plenty wide and without a lot of rock ballast. At High Point you come out onto the road which has almost no traffic. You take this for a couple of miles to Preston where you pick up a trail through the warehouse / office park complex to the Preston park & ride.
