On this disc you will find one-of-a-kind, exclusive live tracks from some of this year’s greatest artists, some well known, others just discovered. All the bands on this compilation have donated their performances to support KEXP, a listener-powered, non-profit public radio station based in Seattle, Washington.
This collection of exclusive Live at KEXP performances is what happens when a vibrant community of music lovers — listeners, donors, and artists — comes together to support and participate in a shared passion. Thanks to the generous financial support of KEXP donors, artists have a home to reach fans old and new, whether it’s up-and-coming stars such as Florence + the Machine, who were captured during a live, in-studio performance long before they were nominated for a Grammy and performed on the Academy Awards, post-punk legends Wire or Northwest groups Mad Rad, My Goodness, and The Head and the Heart. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the 487 artists and bands that performed live on KEXP during the past year, along with a special thanks to those artists who generously agreed to share their performances on Live at KEXP Volume 7.
